Terms of service

BuildMetrx · last updated October 6, 2026

The agreement

These terms are between the company using BuildMetrx ("the company") and the operator of BuildMetrx ("we"). By using BuildMetrx the company agrees to them. A person using BuildMetrx does so on behalf of the company that added them.

The service

BuildMetrx reads a company's vendor bills and related records and turns them into cost data: price history, vendor comparisons, job budgets against actuals, cash flow, schedules and related reports.

Automated reading of documents is not perfect. BuildMetrx shows what it read and asks a person to review it; the company is responsible for the numbers it approves and the decisions it makes with them.

Accounts and access

The company controls who can sign in and what each person can see. It is responsible for keeping sign-in credentials safe and for what its people do in BuildMetrx.

Free plans have limits shown in the product; paid plans are billed as agreed with the company.

Connected systems

When the company connects an accounting system, it authorizes BuildMetrx to read the data described in the privacy policy. BuildMetrx does not write to the connected system. The company can disconnect at any time.

The connected system's own terms govern the company's use of that system.

The time clock and workers' data

When the company uses the time clock, the company is the employer and decides whether photos, location and face matching are used. The company is responsible for giving its workers the notices and getting the consents the law requires where it operates.

BuildMetrx provides the consent screen, keeps the record of what each worker agreed to, and destroys face templates as the company's photo and face policy says.

Not legal, tax or accounting advice

BuildMetrx produces forms, dates and figures from the information the company enters — lien waivers and notices, lien-law deadlines, sales and use tax figures, WIP schedules and similar reports. They are tools, not legal, tax or accounting advice. The company should have its own advisers confirm them before relying on them.

Tracking tools: permits and inspections

BuildMetrx includes tools that keep track of the permits and inspections the company enters for a job. The company chooses what is entered and is responsible for it. BuildMetrx does not tell the company which permits or inspections a job needs, does not apply for or file anything with any agency, and does not confirm that work may proceed. Nothing in these tools is permitting, building-code or legal advice. The company confirms every requirement with its building department.

The company's data

The company owns its data. We use it only to provide and improve the service, as the privacy policy describes. We do not sell it.

Acceptable use

The company will not use BuildMetrx to break the law, to interfere with the service or other companies' use of it, or to try to reach data that is not its own.

Warranties and liability

BuildMetrx is provided as is. We do not promise that it is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to the company is limited to the fees the company paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

The company can stop using BuildMetrx at any time and ask for its data to be deleted. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, with notice where practical.

We may update these terms; the date above says when. Continued use after a change means the company accepts it.
